MAITC Virtual Field Trip
Join the Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) team on a virtual field trip to Pinestead Tree Farm in Isanti, Minnesota. Meet farmers Phil and Helen, see how they grow Christmas trees, and ask questions live. The live video stream will last approximately 20-30 minutes. If you can’t tune in during the live event, the video will be posted on the MAITC YouTube site for later viewing.

The Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP) Farm Business Management Scholarship provides scholarships to water quality certified producers to learn business management strategies that will lead to profitable and competitive farming operations.
This scholarship application is for the 2025-2026 academic year. Please complete the application in collaboration with your Farm Business Management instructor. If you are new to the Farm Business Management Program please visit the program website to contact an instructor. The MAWQCP scholarship will award $165 per credit for a student’s first and second semester in the program and will award $110 per credit for subsequent semesters.
Applications for the MAWQCP Farm Business Management Scholarship are approved and accepted on a rolling basis. The deadlines for applications are:
- Fall semester applications are due October 1
- Spring semester applications are due March 1
- Summer semester applications are due June 1
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be certified in the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program. If awarded, you must also complete a farm analysis. Here are some common questions about the Produce Safety Mini-Grant.
To qualify for the Produce Safety Water Testing for Generic. E. coli Mini-Grant, the applicant must:
- Be a Minnesota produce farmer that sells at least $5,000 annually of produce that is covered by the Produce Safety Rule.
- Have purchased FDA-accepted water testing for generic E. coli under the FSMA Produce Safety Rule between September 30, 2017, and December 31, 2020.
To be considered for the Mini-Grant, a complete application must be submitted to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture by February 26, 2021. A complete application includes:
- The grant application below
- Proof that water testing for generic E. coli was purchased and paid for during the eligible time frame.
Applications that do not include proof of water testing are considered incomplete. Incomplete or late applications will be sent a denial notice within one week of the application’s receipt.
