This one-and-a-half-day retreat focuses on both transferring the "financial business" and transferring the "management and responsibility" of the farm business. The retreat is designed to be attended by both the entering generation and retiring generation involved in a farm and allows time for significant planning and discussion within the farm family.
University of Minnesota Extension and the Minnesota State College and University System have partnered to offer this hands-on farm transition education. Funding support comes from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. Scholarships for dairy farm families are available due to generous support of Minnesota Dairy Initiative.

The Biodiesel Task Force advises the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) on methods to increase the production and use of biodiesel in Minnesota. Biodiesel Task Force members also advise the Commissioners of Agriculture, Commerce, and the Pollution Control Agency about implementing the levels of biodiesel blends required by the Biodiesel Content Mandate statute.
