If a grain buyer holds both a Minnesota grain buyer license and a USDA storage license, producers may only file a claim with the grain indemnity account if they sold grain. Claims for stored grain will be denied.
If valid claims exceed the amount of money available in the grain indemnity account, the MDA will pay claims to producers in the order they were received. When additional money becomes available, the MDA will resume issuing grain indemnity payments to each eligible producer.
