  • A web-based option has been added for reporting Nonagricultural Gross Sales data.  The web-based option allows payment by check, credit card, or e-check. Credit card fees will apply.
  • The sales reporting deadline is March 1 of the year following the sales reporting year. Late fees may apply per statute MN 18B Subd. 3 (l).
  • Collect all sales volumes and sales dollars for each nonagricultural pesticide you sold or distributed into the state for the reporting year. Accurate reporting requires inclusion of sales data from distributors, dealers, and retailers, including internet retailers, that have sold product in or into the state. Solids must be reported in units of pounds and liquids in gallons. Note, only the nonagricultural pesticides require sales reporting by registrants as agricultural pesticides are reported by dealers.
  • Filing a sales report requires your Minnesota Department of Agriculture 8-digit license number and a 4-digit PIN. Reporting instructions including the license/PIN numbers are mailed to the registrant or registrant’s agent the first week of January. If your gross sales instructional packet has been misplaced, you can request the PIN by emailing Pesticide.Registration.MDA@state.mn.us. Note, your PIN is unique for each reporting year.

  • Confirm the licensee information at the top the sales data entry page is correct. If you identify updates with company/agent information or errors/omissions in the product data table, please email pesticide.registration.mda@state.mn.us.
    • Transfer of ownership may require transfer of EPA Registrations to the new owner. New EPA registration will require new MN registration.
  • A table of products currently registered under the license number is provided for ease of data entry.
    • Ensure list of products is inclusive of all products sold in Minnesota.
    • Agricultural products (Ag=YES) included in the table are exempt from reporting.
    • Disinfectant/Sanitizer products (Type=D) are exempt from sales and ACRRA fees and prepopulated as "EXEMPT". Please note that while a disinfectant product may be exempt from fees, you must still provide sales volume and sales dollar data.
    • Enter the amount sold for each product in the table. If you had no sales of a product, enter 0. The reporting units are prepopulated in the table. The amount sold must be reported in the units provided. Liquids are reported in gallons and solids in pounds. If your sales data is in a different unit, it must be converted.
    • Enter the sales dollars for each product in the table.
    • Fee amounts are automatically calculated.
      • Current sales fee rate is based upon the formula Sales Dollars minus $70,000 and multiplied by 0.50%. Amounts less than $10 will default to zero.
      • Current ACRRA fee rate is based upon the formula Sales Dollars multiplied by 0.32%. Amounts less than $10 will default to zero.
    • If required sales data is omitted from the table an error message will pop up detailing the line requiring updates and the data required.
    • Please review all data for accuracy prior to selecting "Next" to move on to the next page. You will not be able to amend the data electronically after moving to the next page.
    • Sales dollar and fee totals will populate at the bottom of the table.
    • You can use the "Print this page" option to print a copy for your records.
    • Select "Next" to move on to the Data Certification/Payment Option page.

For data to meet the requirements for protection under Minn. Stat. §18 B.38, registrants are required to clearly mark on the form any data they believe qualify as a trade secret, commercial data, or financial data. 
    • If you want to mark your sales data as Trade Secret, select Yes. Otherwise, select No.
  • Enter contact information so the MDA can reach you with questions that may arise. Your typed Contact Name serves as your E-Signature certifying, to the best of your knowledge, that the data provided is true and accurate.
  • If you don't owe any sales fees.
    • Select “Print this page” if you want a copy for your records.
    • Select “Yes, I Agree” button to complete the sales reporting.
  • Payment options include paper check, electronic check, and credit card.
    • Payments for multiple licenses at one time requires the use of a paper check. Electronic payment methods must be paid per license before exiting the application.
    • A fee of approximately 2.5% will be applied to credit card payments.
    • If you prefer to pay online using credit card or e-check, select that option.
      • Select “Yes, I Agree” button to move to the payment screen.
      • Select “Payment Method” from the drop down and select “Continue Payment Information”.
      • Complete payment via credit card or e-check.
      • Print a receipt for your records.
    • If you are paying by check, select that option.
      • A summary of the fees owed by the registrant is given.
      • You must select “print this page” so the account information can accompany the check.
      • Select “Yes, I Agree” button to complete the sales reporting.
      • Send the printed copy along with a check for the “Total Amount Due” made payable to Minnesota Department of Agriculture to the address provided.

  • To view a completed report or file an amended report navigate back to License Application and Renewal and you'll be brought to the reporting login page. Enter license number and PIN and select View Completed Sales Report.
  • Use the "Print this page" option to print a copy of your sales report. If desired, the data table can be copied and pasted into an alternate software platform.
  • If you reported sales data in error and need to file an amended report, use the "Print this page" option to print the table. Edit the sales data by crossing out previous data and adding the corrected data. Email the updates to Pesticide.Registration.MDA@state.mn.us. MDA staff will make the necessary changes. Additional fees may apply.
View completed report or file amended report
