Minnesota’s Seed Regulatory Program benefits from strong relationships with County Ag Inspectors. The program is conducting this survey to get feedback about how to improve the collaboration with our local partners across the state. Your response to this survey will be anonymous and will be summarized and reported at CAI District and Executive Board meetings as well as the CAI short course in July 2019. Please complete this survey by December 15th.

Are you able to conduct seed sampling
Are you willing to inspect seed facilities, for example checking seed labels at retail outlets for test dates?
Does your current position or other aspects of your work prevent you from conducting seed sampling inspections?
How many work days per sampling season would you be willing to commit to seed sampling?
Has the MDA provided sufficient training on seed sampling?
If no, have you attended the new CAI training in February?
Has the MDA inspector in your district provided one-on-one training?
Would you like further training to inspect seed facilities or take seed samples?
If so, what kinds of training would you prefer?
What kinds of seed samples are you most interested in taking?
(e.g. corn/soy)
(from box stores, e.g. Walmart and Home Depot)
(for buffer, CRP, highway plantings)
In your county, what stakeholders would benefit most from a seed inspection and seed sampling program?
Are you familiar with the sites that sell seed in your county?
Have you worked with the MDA inspector to develop a comprehensive list of the sites where seed is sold in your county?
Do you have all the equipment you need to sample seeds, or do you work with your MDA rep annually to get equipment?
We typically sample for seeds between January and June, what time of year works best for you to take samples?
Has your district MDA rep offered to go seed sampling with you?
Would you like an MDA inspector to accompany you to take samples as a two person team, or do you prefer to take samples as an individual inspector?
We are starting to take seed samples using iPads. Do you have access to an iPad that you would be able to use for future survey forms.
