The Commissioner of Agriculture oversees the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP) in consul

The Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP) Farm Business Management Scholarship provides scholarships to water quality certified producers to learn business management strategies that will lead to profitable and competitive farming operations.

This scholarship application is for the 2024-2025 academic year. Please complete the application in collaboration with your Farm Business Management instructor. If you are new to the Farm Business Management Program please visit the program website to contact an instructor. The MAWQCP scholarship will award $165 per credit for a student’s first and second semester in the program and will award $110 per credit for subsequent semesters.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be certified in the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program. If awarded, you must also complete a farm analysis. The MAWQCP scholarship will take a student’s existing scholarships and financial aid into consideration. The MAWQCP scholarship will cover the remaining tuition balance up to $165 per credit for a student’s first and second semester and up to $110 per credit for subsequent semesters. For example, if a student is in their first semester of the FBM program, is taking 2 credits and has a scholarship of $200 ($100 per credit) the MAWQCP scholarship will cover the remaining $40 per credit.
