Visit Menahga City Hall to have your well water tested for free. Well water should be tested for nitrate every year (Minnesota Department of Health).
To participate, bring at least one-half cup of your well water in either a clean plastic or glass container, or a zipped plastic bag (i.e. Ziploc). To get a good sample, allow the water to run 5 to 10 minutes before filling the container.
The MDA is partnering with the Wadena Soil and Water Conservation District to offer this testing. This program is supported by the Minnesota Clean Water Fund.
