The Minnesota Food Safety and Defense Task Force (FSDTF) is a group of individuals and organizations interested in promoting food safety and defense in the state. The Task Force sponsors educational opportunities each year to support and encourage food safety efforts.

The Task Force members represent federal, state, and local government agencies, commodity groups, food related trade associations, food producers, academia, and others.

The FSDTF meets four to six times per year.

FIT Recommendation Letter Considerations

The Food Safety and Defense Task Force (FSDTF) will be holding a special meeting on April 26th to discuss the draft Recommendation   to Governor Tim Walz brought forth by the Food Innovation Team (FIT), an active sub-committee of the FSDTF. The Recommendation proposes statutory change regarding member compensation and was passed onto FSDTF membership for consideration at the January meeting.  Discussion will focus on the issues put forth in the FIT Recommendation Letter Considerations.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, FSDTF members will attend the meeting via WebEx.
