Join Sheletta Brundidge, of ShelettaMakesMeLaugh.com, and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture for a free, in-person event focused on supporting Black food and agriculture entrepreneurs across Minnesota. This event will introduce participants to food business support, licensing pathways, and funding opportunities available through MDA. Whether you’re exploring a food business idea, selling under the Cottage Food exemption, or looking to scale into wholesale markets, this session will help demystify the process and connect you with helpful resources.
Attendees will hear from MDA staff about:
- What the Minnesota Department of Agriculture does and how it supports food businesses
- Programs and resources for emerging farmers and food entrepreneurs
- Starting a food business in Minnesota, including Cottage Food and wholesale licensing
- Accessing commercial kitchens
- Marketing opportunities, ingredient sourcing, and wholesale markets
- Grant programs that support value-added food businesses
There will be time for questions, networking, and one-on-one conversations with presenters. Resource packets will be provided. This is a free, first-come, first-served event with limited capacity. Lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
