Custom exempt plants may process meat, poultry, and/or wild game to be used by the owner of the animal, the owner’s family, and the owner’s nonpaying guests. In contrast to equal to plants, these facilities are only inspected by the MDA on an occasional basis, 1-4 times per year depending on the seasonality of the business.The list below includes custom exempt plants in Minnesota with an active license and custom processing permit. It is updated on a weekly basis. Contact individual plants directly for current information about their services and availability.
