The Food Retail Improvement and Development Program (FRIDG) Advisory Committee was established to “advise the commissioner of agriculture on managing the program, establishing program criteria, establishing project eligibility guidelines, establishing application processes and additional selection criteria, establishing annual monitoring and accountability mechanisms, facilitating leveraging of additional public and private investments, and promoting the program statewide.” (MINN. STAT. 17.1018, amended by Laws of Minnesota, Chapter 34, Article 3, Section 2)
In practice, the committee ensures the program is achieving its goals. Members provide feedback on grant guidelines, offer input on eligibility and application processes, and help make sure the program meets the needs of small retailers and the communities they serve.

- Council for Minnesotans of African Heritage
