The MDA performs special registration reviews on new active ingredients and currently registered pesticides that have significant new uses, recently approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). In the process of completing a review, the MDA extensively analyzes the EPA risk assessments for a variety of human health and ecological risk issues relevant to Minnesota. The MDA also assesses laboratory analytical concerns for tracking potential misuse and non-target impacts, and reviews the product labels for any difficult to interpret or uncommon label language. Information on projected crop use and efficacy is gathered from University Extension, user groups and others. Reviews may also include communication with USEPA or the registrant to request more information about identified concerns.
Below is a spreadsheet with special registration reviews on new active ingredients and new uses organized by year and then alphabetically. The type of review (new active ingredient or new use) and information on any subsequent registered uses can also be found in the table for each listed pesticide. The MDA will try and update each pesticide to reflect significant registration related changes.
