Agroforestry

Agroforestry combines trees and shrubs with crops and/or livestock. It diversifies farm and forest production while conserving natural resources. A number of agroforestry practices are suited to temperate climates, including: alleycropping, silvopasture, forest farming, windbreaks, and riparian forest buffers.
