Ag research and promotion councils elect new representatives
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Four Minnesota agricultural research and promotion councils recently elected new members to serve on their boards of directors. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), which administers the elections, has released the voting results for the barley, beef, corn and soybean councils.
These councils play an important role in coordinating the ongoing development and promotion of farm products such as grains and meats. Board members represent farmers in their district, oversee council activities, and make decisions regarding the expenditure of their commodity check-off funds.
The newly elected board members will serve three-year terms.
