Farmers’ market vendors encouraged to attend regional workshops
Workshops will focus on regulation and promotion
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Farmers’ Market Association and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture are co-sponsoring five free regional workshops in an effort to provide outreach to more vendors. These workshops replace the fall conferences previously held each year in Staples and Owatonna.
The workshops will be held in Albany, Bemidji, Bloomington, Mankato and St. Charles to provide current and prospective vendors information about food safety rules and regulations, how to obtain non-profit status, insurance coverage for vendors and markets, and how to advertise and promote a market.
The Minnesota Farmers’ Market Association will also provide an overview of its activities and accomplishments. Anyone interested in vending at farmers’ markets is encouraged to attend. No preregistration is required.
