Election results announced for five research and promotion councils        

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Five Minnesota agricultural research and promotion councils recently elected new members to serve on their boards of directors.  The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), which administers the elections, has released the voting results for the Canola, Dry Edible Bean, Sunflower and Areas I and II Potato councils. 

Minnesota’s commodity research and promotion councils play an important role in coordinating the ongoing development and promotion of farm products.  The elections provide producers an opportunity to have a say in how their commodity check-off dollars are invested.

Elected to a seat on the board of directors for the five councils are:

Area I Potato Research and Promotion Council
Gorman Johnson, Polk County
Justin Dagen, Kittson County

Area II Potato Research and Promotion Council
Jeff Edling, Sherburne County
Brian Goenner, Sherburne County
Frank Kasowski, III, Sherburne County
John Petron, Todd County

Canola Research and Promotion Council
District 1
