The Minnesota Department of Agriculture convened a Tree Care Company Licensing and Regulation Task Force. The objectives of the task force were to review and make recommendations on the following topics and practices: the need for the licensing, education, and training of tree care professionals; and the need for regulating employers offering tree care services or tree care operations, including the establishment of insurance and solvency protection for the public. Six meetings were held with the task force members and members of the public. As a result of these discussions, MDA prepared and delivered the Tree Care Licensing Task Force Report to the standing agriculture policy committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives on February 16, 2007.
