The MDA offers many grant programs to assist individuals and organizations with agricultural development.
AGRI County Fair Grants - provide an equal share of funds to each of Minnesota's county fairs to preserve and promote agriculture throughout Minnesota. All Minnesota county fairs may apply.
AGRI Crop Research Grants - provide funds for applied crop research that will improve agricultural product quality, quantity, or value.
AGRI Farm to Early Care and Education Grants - support early care and education (ECE) organizations by supporting the equipment purchases and the creation of plans that will result in increased use of Minnesota grown and raised foods in nutrition programs.
AGRI Farm to School Grants - support school districts by supporting the equipment purchases and the creation of plans that will result in increased use of Minnesota grown and raised foods in nutrition programs.
AGRI Livestock Investment Grants - provide funds to help eligible livestock producers stay competitive. Funds may help with construction or building improvement projects, and some equipment purchases.
AGRI Sustainable Agriculture Demonstration Grants - support innovative on-farm research and demonstrations. Projects must explore sustainable agricultural practices and systems, and findings are published in the Minnesota Department of Agriculture's annual Greenbook publication.
AGRI Urban Agriculture Grants - support and encourage urban youth agricultural education and urban agriculture community development.
AGRI Value Added Grants - support the cost of equipment or physical improvements that will add value to and increase sales of agricultural produces grown in the state.
AGRI Value Added Feasibility Study Grants - help fund feasibility studies for companies that wish to add value to and increase the sales of Minnesota agricultural products. The program assists with the development of profitable businesses that will benefit the state's economy by processing products grown or raised in Minnesota.
Dairy Business Planning Grants - encourages dairy business planning and modernization activities of Minnesota dairy farms.
Dairy Profitability & Enhancement Teams - for producers who are looking to make some changes in their operations.
GFAP Equipment and Physical Improvement Grants - the Good Food Access Program (GFAP) supports grocery stores and small food retailers in increasing the availability of and access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally-appropriate food for underserved communities.
GFAP Technical Assistance Grants - the Good Food Access Program (GFAP) assists technical assistance providers in working with new or existing for-profit, not-for-profit, and cooperative self-service retail food establishments with needs-based project assistance to increase the availability of and access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally-appropriate food for underserved communities.

Specialty Crop Grants - grants to help specialty crop growers in Minnesota remain competitive in the marketplace.
