New or additional production of thermal energy obtained from biomass is eligible for the incentive program (“new or additional” means that the production was not in place before July 1, 2015). Thermal energy production from biomass combustion, gasification, or anaerobic digestion qualifies for the incentive.
To be eligible for the program:
Note: An entity that holds controlling interest in more than one biomass thermal energy production facility is considered a single eligible producer.
Note: Total payments to all producers are limited by statute to 150,000 MMBtu of advance biofuel. Awards will be made on a first come, first served basis within the limits of available funding.
