The Minnesota Tradeshow & Demonstration (Demo) Support Program (TSP) is a new market development initiative of the Agricultural Marketing and Development Division of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
TSP includes cost-sharing of booth space and other booth-related expenses at wholesale food shows (not consumer-focused events), and sampling demos held in retail stores where applicants products are sold.
Small-medium (500 or fewer employees) private Minnesota-based companies and agricultural cooperatives, farmers, ranchers or other entities and organizations that offer Minnesota foods and agricultural products, who wish to feature those products that they made, processed or grew, at wholesale food tradeshows or at retail locations.
This program reimburses up to 50% of eligible costs paid, with acceptable documentation of expenditures. Eligible costs may include:
The reimbursement limit for eligible TSP claims is $4,000 within the state fiscal year (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017). Eligible costs incurred participating in a Minnesota Pavilion event have an additional $4,000 limit. The maximum amount to be reimbursed to any eligible entity within the state fiscal year is $8,000.
MDA will allocate limited TSP funds requested on a first-come, first-served basis. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016, MDA has initially allocated $130,000 to pay eligible reimbursement claims within this state fiscal year. MDA reserves the right to deny claims under this program to entities not in good standing with the State, and any who do not comply with any of the other requirements listed above.
TSP will reimburse for eligible activities, that took place no more than six months prior to date of application. June 12, 2017 is the deadline for application for payment from fiscal year 2017 TSP allocations. Note: this is no guarantee funds will be available at that point. MDA revises TSP rules every 6 months. The program may change after January 1, 2017.
To apply for cost-sharing, complete, sign and return the TSP application form (PDF: 109 KB / 2 pages), and return to firstname.lastname@example.org along with required documentation. ** MAC Users: Please complete the form using Adobe Reader. **
