Agriculture is the foundation of Minnesota's economy. Minnesota ranks No. 6 in the nation in agricultural production with $15.8 billion in agricultural sales per year. Agricultural production and processing industries employ one in every five Minnesota workers, and generate nearly one fifth of our total economic activity.
This program focuses on providing market information and economic data to Minnesota's agricultural producers, processors, and exporters, as well as policy-makers and the general public. The key program areas include: domestic and international market research, economic and statistical analysis, and economic impact studies at the state, regional, and county levels.
