2011 MDA Workshop for Environmental Professionals

Meeting Overview: The Incident Response Unit (IRU) will be hosting an informational meeting, including presentations by MDA staff, for consultants and others interested in agricultural chemical incident investigations. Participants will get the latest information about changes to IRU procedures, policies and regulatory updates.

The Preliminary Agenda includes:

  • A review of IRU guidance documents and recent changes to them
  • A discussion about our prioritization process for agricultural chemical incident sites
  • Information about recent activities related to abandoned ag-chem facilities
  • The Agricultural Chemical Response and Reimbursement Account (ACRRA)
  • Information about researching our incident data for completing a Phase 1 ESA.

Questions for the presenters and other MDA staff will be accepted prior to the meeting, during the day and during a panel discussion at the end.  There will be mid morning and mid afternoon breaks with time for networking and interaction with Incident Response Unit staff.

Meeting Date and Time: The meeting will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, 625 Robert St North, St Paul, MN 55155. Registration will begin at 8:30 am. The meeting will begin at 9:00 am and end at 3:30 pm. There will be no charge for attending the meeting. We are planning to have a speaker over the lunch break with a box lunch available for purchase. 

Who Should Attend?

  • Environmental consultants who are, or expect to be involved in investigations of agricultural chemical facilities
  • Laboratories that do agricultural chemical analysis of soil and/or water for agricultural chemical incident investigations
  • Agricultural chemical industry representatives who may be involved in agricultural chemical incident investigations.

Presentations
