How do I use the flow charts in the Decision Making Tool?

The purpose of the flow charts is to navigate through a pathway to determine what type of regulations will apply to a specific livestock operation. Below are some things to keep in mind as you work through the Decision Making Tool:

  • Start at the top of the flow chart and work down through the decision tree.
  • As you go through the Decision Making Tool flow charts, you may click on each individual decision boxes to get more information on that subject.
  • The last row of boxes in the Decision Making Tool will indicate if a permit is needed, and if so, what type of permit.
  • The last box at the bottom of the Decision Making Tool provides information on regulations that affect all livestock operations, regardless of size of animal type.
