Flood Recovery Information for Agricultural and Food Businesses

After the flood waters recede, MDA helps agricultural businesses with recovery steps that include verifying the safety of stored food products and agricultural chemicals, testing well water supplies for contamination, and responding to any contamination related to release of agricultural chemicals into the environment. We help evaluate damaged facilities and equipment, and provide guidance for repairs and new installations in order to re-open a food establishment. We also help businesses access federal and state assistance, as well as, through the Farm Advocate and Minnesota Farmers Assistance Network (MFAN) Programs, which offers counseling and service referrals for those suffering a loss.
